  34. PGPLOT is a portable Fortran subroutine package for drawing simple
  35. scientific graphs. It runs on most mainframes on various graphics display
  36. devices and printers including inkjet and PostScript ones. It was originally
  37. developed for use with astronomical data reduction programs in the Caltech
  38. Astronomy department. It is not Public Domain. However, it is Freely
  39. available for non-Commercial use. It is copyrighted by the California
  40. Institute of Technology. The software is provided "as is" with no warranty.

  42. Version 5.20 of PGPlot was released by Tim Pearson on 16 June 1997. It has
  43. several bug fixes to the graphics system and a few new functions in the library
  44. with new "Demos" to match.

  46. The PGPlot library supplied on this disc has been compiled with Fortran
  47. Release 2 for the Archimedes which must be installed on your Archimedes
  48. before you can compile the example programs supplied and run this package.
  49. Another new version of the 'Utils' library which works with strongARM and the
  50. old ARM processors is included. Hopefully this one works.
